Interesting,

One hundred and fifty years ago there would be no problem with "the peacemaker mentality." Now you may think I'm a bleeding heart liberal yet I believe in the death penalty and we should use it.

If somebody threatens you in public/home /place of business when will the rights of the public replace or re-emerge as the American justice system? Remember the guy in N.Y. who started carrying a handgun on the subway because he was tired of being mugged (I think this may have been as far back as the 70's) -the district attorney tried to put him in prison for attempted murder. They would later make about eight 'Death Wish' movies which extended Charles Bronson (one of my favorites of the McQeen, Coburn, Eastwood era) proved at least temporarily to statistically lower crime rates.

Criminal gangs and terrorist cartels use it..,

Why can't we the taxpayer?

But the cry from the public court of opinion was these methods were "to violent" (Dirty Harry, Bullet, add

to kiv: Yes,I thought about that at the time. I have the re-make of Colt's 1873 .45 now called the Cowboy model. Music wire springs,a $120 action job and safe to carry with six cartridges. She's a honey. I toss golf balls onto the desert sands at a pretty good distance and hip-shoot them,not missing often. I SOO wanted to ventilate the creep but there's laws against it. It's frustrating these dorky times we live in. Common sense says shoot him then go have lunch and pat myself on the back for improving the gene pool. Were ours' truely a civilized society,that would happen. Which tells you we do NOT live in a civilized society. It's pandemonium out there,society being run by queers and lawyers.

Tinfoil;

Were there more than three creditable eye

witnesses to these threats?

Than I'd say "here ya go, (I've got the right to self protection) so I'll kill you back."

Were does that leave us?

One dead and a productive member of society doing time for manslaughter plus a wrongful death suit in civil court...

Here's some edification for Tracy PD and citizens. This is a shoplifting technique. It was used on me a year ago in my desert ghost town. I was steps from entering our little market,saw a wino-type approaching. I said "Hot day today". He replied "I'll kill you". My ghost town is much like the town in 'Bad Day at Black Rock' so I chaulked it up to the usual psycho coot one meets in the desert. He zoomed past me,entered the market still yelling he'd kill me. I told the girl working the cash register to call the cops. So she called Barstow PD a hundred miles away. The guy ran to the back of the store,filled his pants with expensive prepared foods from the Meat Dept. He walked past me exiting the store loudly proclaiming the various methods he'd use to end my life. Since then I don't greet people with "Hot day today" lest they freak out and slaughter me.

-"shouting match". Not a verbal argument. No way. This one is a shouting match. Wow. That's a good one! Females speak with a higher pitch, so she probably won?
