An answer to that question could be forthcoming the weekend of Oct. 2 and 3, when the Tracy Golf & Country Club will host a reborn version of the Tracy City Golf Championship.
The two-day medal-play tournament, open to any male golfer, will crown winners in both championship and senior divisions, said Shaun McCarty, pro at the course. Each division will have a regular flight based on gross scores and a handicap flight.
“Anyone interested in competing is eligible to take part,” McCarty said. “The tournament is open to any golfer, whether they are member of our club or not.”
Seniors need to be 55 years of age or older by Oct. 2.
He said flight winners will be eligible to receive gift certificates valued up to $500, depending on the number of players.
Entry fee of $125 includes green fees and prizes. Golf carts are available at $15 for 18 holes, and range balls will be $10 the Saturday and Sunday of the tournament.
An entry form is included in today’s edition of the Tracy Press.
