EDITOR,

I am wondering why it is acceptable to leave our roads in such poor condition after repairs have been made?

Grant Line Road is now a nightmare, and while I understand the crews are not complete with their work, they will leave it just like it is because it has already been paved over.

When they did work on Clover Road between Holly Drive and Tracy Boulevard, the road was left in horrible condition. It is terrible to drive on! There are other streets in town in the same condition.

The work should be done properly. I know in my business, I need to do a good job, or I will not get paid. Why should these contractors get paid if it the job is not to our satisfaction?

I think we need to hold people who work for us to a high standard and leave our town in better shape than when they began the work, not worse.

Spanky6, thanx for the voice of reason. The city I worked for 18 years had a different philosophy -- open the road, pave the road. 6 months later -- open the road, pave the road. 3 months later ..... (you get the idea) This was because a few citizens like Ms. Munroe complained and staff were not allowed to say "no". Instead, over the years hundreds of thousands of tax dollars were wasted in order to keep a few complainers happy. (sound familiar????) Just hope Tracy sticks to its guns and tells complainers like this to find another route. If not, Leon and his "minions" will find another Fee for Service to charge us. Let's see........ Grant Line Tollway has a nice ring to it!!!! (NOT)

In this country we can give peace a chance, but we can't give the construction crew a chance to complete their job, first?

The road is not fixed, they are still laying pipe! Makes NO sense to lay pipe, then pave over it, to make you happy, and then rip it back out to install storm water catch basins etc. I think the construction company is doing a good job, with what the job they have to do! There are other routes in the city, instead of going down Grant line! I suggest you use those routes! When all the pipe is laid and the signal work is done, and the road is is expanded out to 2 lanes each way, then the paving will be done!
