Tracy Babe Ruth teams will start play in the Central California Cal Ripken State Tournament this week.

Tracy’s 11-year-old All-Stars advanced directly to the state tournament in Bakersfield. Tracy is in a 10-team bracket, with games set to begin today. Tracy’s first game is against the Central All-Stars. The championship game in the double-elimination tournament will be Thursday afternoon.

Tracy also has a 9-year-old team that begins play in a 12-team tournament at Polk Elementary School in Fresno. Pool play begins Tuesday, and the single-elimination bracket begins Friday with the championship July 19.

Tracy’s 10-year-old All-Stars qualified for the state championship in Visalia with their District 1 win last week in Tracy. That tournament starts with pool play on Thursday and bracket play July 19, with the championship game on July 21.

District 1 will be represented by the 12-year-old teams from Lodi and Oakdale after Tracy came in third in the local tournament earlier this week. Lodi beat Oakdale 5-4 on Tuesday to force a second game for the championship, and then beat Oakdale 7-0 to make Lodi the District 1 champion.
