Last week’s Remember When mystery photo, above left, showed longtime Tracy resident John Thompson with his 1914 Dodge touring car in July 1996. Thompson drove his vintage auto in a number of Tracy parades over the years. His family at one time operated a Chrysler-Dodge-Plymouth auto dealership on East 11th Street where the RAS carwash is now.

Gary Thompson, son of John Thompson, and Bob Moehring identified Thompson and his vintage car in the photo.

Today’s mystery photo, above right, shows a local downtown merchant in his business in the 1990s. Who is in the photo and what was his occupation before going into business?
