Dorothy Ednetta Gerlach Crites, 88, a Tracy High School graduate and lifelong resident of the family ranch, died Saturday, Aug. 16, at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital. All services will be private. Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., is handling arrangements. Contributions in Mrs. Crites’ name may be made to Hospice of San Joaquin, www.hospicesj.org.

Violet Marghretta (Brown) Pierce, 91, a former Tracy resident and Southern Pacific Railroad retiree, died Saturday, Aug. 16, in Beaverton, Ore. No services are planned. Springer and Son Aloha Funeral Home in Aloha, Ore., is handling arrangements. Contributions in Mrs. Pierce’s name may be sent to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org, or to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1635 Chester Drive, Tracy, CA 95376.

Arlene L. Kicenski, 80, of Banta, died Friday, Aug. 15, at Kaiser Permanente Manteca Medical Center. No services are planned. Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., is handling arrangements.

Billy Duane “Bill” Perkins, 78, of Tracy, died Friday, Aug. 15, in Modesto. Graveside services will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Visitation will be observed from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave.

Anna Louise Silva, 86, a former Tracy resident, died Thursday, Aug. 14, at Manteca Care & Rehabilitation Center. A funeral service will begin at noon Friday, Aug. 22, at Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., followed by burial in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Visitation will be observed beginning at 9 a.m. Friday at the mortuary.

Joyce A. “Joy” Bannon, 75, a homemaker and member of New Life Fellowship, died Aug. 12 in a Vallejo hospital. A celebration of her life will begin at 2 p.m. Aug. 31 at The Redbridge House, 2935 Redbridge Road. The family asks that people dress in colors and avoid wearing black.

Armando Guzman, 42, of Tracy, a truck driver for Safeway, died Aug. 10 at his home. Visitation will be observed beginning at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 E. North St., in Manteca. Burial will be in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. An online guest book will be available at www.frymemorialchapel.com. Contributions to a memorial fund for Mr. Guzman’s children can be sent to Bank of Stockton, 1175 N. Tracy Blvd., Tracy, CA 95376.

Julie Oleta Bird, 54, of Tracy, died Aug. 9. Graveside services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Los Gatos Memorial Park, 2255 Los Gatos-Almaden Road, in San Jose. Visitation will be observed from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., and an online guest book can be found at www.frymemorialchapel.com.

Fred William Welch, 71, a former Tracy resident, died Aug. 8 at his home in Courtland. Services will be private. Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., is handling arrangements. Contributions in Mr. Welch’s name may be sent to the Humane Society of Stanislaus County, 1620 N. Carpenter Road, Ste. D57B, Modesto, CA 95351.

Blanche Mae “Nana” Corbin, 90, died Aug. 2 at her home with her family around her. Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave. Inurnment will be private. Contributions in Ms. Corbin’s name may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org.
