A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday for Arthur Peter “Art” Arroyo, 60, who died Friday in Tracy after a brief illness.

Mr. Arroyo was born Dec. 31, 1943. A longtime resident of Belmont, he had moved to Tracy a year ago to be near his son and grandchildren.

He owned Arroyo’s Auto Body & Paint in Redwood City for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Mariella Arroyo of Tracy; son, Shaun Arroyo, and his wife, Tamara, of Tracy; brother, Victor Arroyo of San Jose; sister, Rosemary Arroyo of San Jose; mother-in-law, Floria Martinucci of South San Francisco; and two grandchildren.

Thursday’s Mass at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church was followed by entombment at Tracy Mausoleum, 8842 W. Schulte Road. A guest book is online at www.frymemorialchapel.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
