Joshua, a purebred treeing Walker coonhound, needs a patient, experienced foster family to help him work through his separation anxiety. When people are around, he is a laid-back, low-maintenance dog. He is house trained, has good manners and socializes well with other dogs and cats. But when he’s left alone, he panics, vocalizes loudly and can be destructive — a result of traumatic isolation in the backyard of his former home. East of Eden, a nonprofit animal rescue organization, is looking for someone to help Joshua learn to become comfortable in a crate or kennel for short periods. All his expenses will be paid, including doggy day care. Contact Sheri Savage at eoerescue@yahoo.com or 925-980-3035. East of Eden also has pet adoption fairs at Petco, 2888 Grant Line Road, from noon to 3 p.m. Saturdays. For information, call 815-5186 or visit www.eoerescue.org.

Julie, a 4-month-old female brown and black domestic mediumhair, is at the Tracy Animal Shelter and needs a home. Many other cats and dogs are also available for adoption. The shelter, 370 Arbor Road, is open from noon to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Donations of canned and dry dog and cat food, treats, toys, flea and tick shampoo are needed. For information: 831-6364 or “City of Tracy Animal Services” on Facebook.
