MOUNTAIN HOUSE — The process to find an interim general manager for the Mountain House Community Services District began Tuesday with applicant interviews by the board of directors.

During a four-hour closed session in the district board room, directors Steven Gutierrez, Celeste Farron, Jim Lamb and Bernice King Tingle met and interviewed applicants for the community’s highest leadership position.

When the board reconvened in open session, board counsel Daniel Schroeder announced that there was no reportable action.

According to Lamb, the board is not allowed to say anything about what happened in closed session. He declined to comment on the number of candidates and whether any additional interviews would be conducted.

He did say that the directors were focused on hiring an interim general manager before turning their attention to a permanent general manager.

The filing period for the interim position ended at noon Monday, and directors hope to have someone in place by this coming Monday.

The interim general manager is expected to serve at least six months while the board searches for a replacement for Janice McClintock, whose contract was terminated June 24. Lamb said the board had not decided whether to hire a recruitment firm.
