Signs were installed Friday at the intersections of Mustang Way with Mountain House Parkway and DeAnza Boulevard, removing for good the signs identifying the road as Mascot Boulevard. Mountain House residents chose the Mustangs as the mascot for Mountain House High School in March 2013. School officials had planned to change the street signs after a mascot symbol was formally approved by the school board. The school — slated to open in August — is in the southern portion of the community in Hansen Village. Additional signs are expected to be installed at the remaining intersections along the former boulevard at a later date, according to community officials.
