IGCG grad completes double master’s
Erica Reed, who graduated from West High School’s Institute for Global Commerce and Government in 2005, earned master’s degrees in counseling and forensic psychology May 16 from Holy Names University.
She plans to pursue a yearlong internship and apply to the doctoral psychology program at University of California, Los Angeles.
Reed completed her undergraduate education at Holy Names on a four-year academic-athletic scholarship.
Tracy High graduate earns bachelor’s
Lynsie Zellmer, a 2011 graduate of Tracy High School, graduated cum laude this May with a bachelor’s degree in health promotion and a minor in communications from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. This summer, she will complete an internship in Washington, D.C.
She is the daughter of Angela and Russ Zellmer of Tracy.
City mechanic honored
Frank Desousa has been named employee of the month for the city of Tracy. Desousa is senior equipment mechanic in the Public Works Department and began his tenure with the city in 2004 as a temporary mechanic.
Desousa has more than 30 years’ experience in the automotive field and received an associate degree in diesel technology in 2013. He is certified as a master mechanic by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence.
Desousa and his wife of 27 years moved to Tracy in 2000 and have two sons.
THS alumnus earns engineering degree
Muhammad Sufian Bustamam, Tracy High Class of 2004, recently received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from California State University, Sacramento.
As a student, he worked on a project for NASA, made a robot controllable by the mind and built a wearable tool to make firefighters safer and more effective, the Vital/Environmental Risk Assessment System for Firefighters.
He previously served four years in the Navy.
