Services will be Wednesday for Gwendolyn Mary Kurtzner, 90, of Tracy, who died June 3 at Tracy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Hayward on March 23, 1924, Mrs. Kurtzner was a homemaker and expert at sewing. She and her husband moved to Tracy 19 years ago to be closer to her daughter’s family. She quilted with friends at Sew Many Quilts and would knit at the former K2 Knits in downtown Tracy.

Survivors include a son, Michael Kurtzner, and his wife, Karen, of Elk Grove; a daughter, Cathy DuCharme, and her husband, Larry, of Manteca; a brother, James Helms of Modesto; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Lyle Kurtzner; parents, Mary and Arthur Helms; and three brothers, Chuck Helms, Marvin Helms and Kenny Helms.

Wednesday’s service will begin at 11 a.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave. A gathering with food will follow, also at the funeral home.
