Melvin P. Garner, 88, a 64-year Tracy resident, died Wednesday at his home. Graveside services will begin at 10:30 a.m. next Wednesday at Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., is handling arrangements.

Richard Mattos, a lifelong Tracy resident who worked as a farm foreman and owned a family trucking company, died Wednesday at his home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 5, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave. Burial with military honors will follow in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Visitation will be observed beginning at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Manuela Lopez Espartero, 97, a homemaker and parishioner of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, died Monday at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 6, at St. Bernard’s, 163 W. Eaton Ave., followed by burial in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Visitation will be observed next week from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 5, at the mortuary. Contributions in Mrs. Espartero’s name may be sent to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org).

David Allan Griffith Sr., 50, of Tracy, died unexpectedly at his home Monday. Services are pending. Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., is handling arrangements.

Dennis J. Rudd, 84, a resident of Tracy for 31 years, died Saturday at Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson. Graveside services will begin at 2:30 p.m. next Friday, June 6, at Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., is handling arrangements.

Virginia M. Harrison, 91, a former Tracy resident, died Friday in an Arkansas hospital. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave. Burial will follow in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Visitation will be observed from noon to 5 p.m. Monday, followed immediately by a vigil service, at Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave.

Juana “Juanita” Lopez Rodriguez, 57, a Tracy High School alumna and former food service worker for Tracy Unified School District, died May 22. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave., followed by burial in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Flowers of condolence can be sent until 5 p.m. Friday to Zapata Funeral Home, 512 W. Harding Way, Stockton, CA 95202.

Noreen Ahumada-Rodriguez, 53, a Tracy native, died May 22 at her home in San Francisco. A celebration of life will begin at 2 p.m. June 7 in the Tracy Community Church hall, 1790 Sequoia Blvd. A vigil is scheduled at 7 p.m. June 12 and a Mass at 11 a.m. June 13 at St. Gabriel Church, 2559 40th Ave., in San Francisco. A reception will follow the Mass. The family is accepting memorial contributions at www.gofundme.com/9h9tws.

Ellamay Dasse, 95, of Tracy, died May 19. Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., handled arrangements. The family has planned a celebration of her life at a later date.
