Services were held Wednesday for Gerald James Boeve, 93, a 70-year Tracy resident, who died April 23 at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital.

Mr. Boeve was born Feb. 1, 1921, in Adams, Neb., and worked 46 years as an engineer for Southern Pacific Railroad, retiring in 1982.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tracy, Tracy Elks Lodge BPOE No. 2031 and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen Division No. 692.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Bernice Boeve of Tracy; a daughter, Carol Ann Gutierrez of Tracy; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were a brother and two sisters.

Burial was in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., handled arrangements.
