Howard N. Farris, 77, a longtime Tracy resident, died Tuesday at San Joaquin General Hospital in French Camp. No services are planned.

Born March 5, 1937, in San Bernardino, Mr. Farris had lived in Tracy and the surrounding area for 45 years. He worked odd jobs for several years.

Mr. Farris is survived by six siblings, Barbara L. Cole of Tracy, Rosie Townsend of Grants Pass, Ore., Dollie Morgan of Vacaville and Mary McDonald, Vernon Morgan, and W.W. Morgan Jr., all of Washington state; and one niece and one nephew.

His wife, Violet Farris, preceded him in death in 1982 after 10 years of marriage.

Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., is handling arrangements. Inurnment will be private.
