Mr. Martin, a Tracy resident since 2010, was born May 14, 1925, in Okemah, Okla., and served 23 years in the Air Force as a military police officer and airplane mechanic.
Upon leaving the Air Force, he began a career as an engine mechanic for United Airlines. He also worked as a restorer and mechanic for the Travis Air Force Base museum. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers.
Survivors include three children, Vicki Clifton of Tracy, Terry Wasserman of Chicago and Thomas Martin of Napa; four siblings, Billy Jack Martin of North Tonawanda, N.Y., Bobby Gene Martin of Newkirk, Okla., Manta Lu Renfro of Fairfax, Okla., and Laura Alice of Yuma, Ariz.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Monty and Mildred Martin; and a brother, Dale Martin.
Also surviving are three grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
