A 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy were caught when someone reported seeing them painting graffiti on a building on the 200 block of West 11th Street at 8:11 p.m. Saturday, according to a press release issued Monday by Tracy Police Department.
Officers patrolling in the area were notified and found the boys, arresting them for the vandalism. The pair is alleged to have tagged the building with the monikers “SIKE” and “FTK.”
The same monikers were found on buildings on the 100 block of West 10th Street and the 1000 block of A Street and in a shopping center on the 3300 block of North Tracy Boulevard.
The boys were cited and turned over to their parents. If they are convicted, their families might have to reimburse the property owners and the city for the cost of cleaning up the graffiti, according to the police department.
Residents can report tagging they see to the Tracy Graffiti Removal Program by calling 831-6583.
