Tracy Unified School District is inviting members of the community to participate in the selection of the next superintendent of education.

Dr. James Franco is retiring at the end of June after 27 years in the district, 12 as superintendent.

According to district spokesman Joel Danoy, the district wants to hear from the community to help form a candidate profile for potential applicants. Residents can fill out surveys about what kind of experience the next superintendent should have and what significant issues face the district now.

Printed surveys are available at any TUSD school or at the district offices, 1875 W. Lowell Ave. People can also fill out online surveys on the district website, www.tracy.k12.ca.us.

Residents still have a week to fill out the surveys and return them to the district offices by 5 p.m. Friday.
