San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors District 5 representative Bob Elliott has been named the new chairman of the county executive board, effective Monday, Jan. 6.

Elliott replaces outgoing chairman Ken Vogel, who represents District 4.

A reorganizational meeting to change the leadership of the board has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday. At that meeting, remarks will be made by Vogel and Elliott, and an election of the remaining board officers will be held.

Elliott was elected to the board of supervisors on Nov. 6, 2012, to represent portions

of south San Joaquin County, including Tracy, Mountain House and half of Manteca. Before his service on the board, he served on the Tracy City Council from December 2010 to December 2012.
