Albert Landeros, a 2013 graduate of Tracy High and now a freshman at Sacramento City College, finished the California Community Colleges Athletic Association wrestling season as a member of the state championship team.

Landeros, wrestling in the 125-pound weight class, placed fourth in his bracket at the championship tournament Saturday, Dec. 14, at San Joaquin Delta College.

He won his first match on a 12-3 major decision, lost a 6-5 decision and then won three matches in a row — a 12-4 major decision, an 8-5 decision and a 6-2 decision. In the third-place match, he lost to Dustin Kirk of Cerritos College on a 10-1 major decision.

While at Tracy High, Landeros was the two-time San Joaquin Athletic Association champion in his class. He was the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I-A champion in the 122-pound class in 2013.

Landeros qualified for the state meet with a third-place finish at the CCCAA Northern California Regional championship tournament Dec. 7 in Rocklin.

Also wrestling at the state meet was 2013 West High graduate Rogelio Bravo (149), a freshman at San Joaquin Delta College, who qualified with a sixth-place showing at the regional championship tournament. Bravo went 0-2 on Saturday.
