West grapplers collect gold at Logan High meet

West High brought back three gold medals from the Colt Classic junior varsity tournament at Logan High in Union City.

Sophomore Jeovany Alvarenga took first in the 113-pound weight class, and juniors Fabio Quintanilla (220) and Lautaime Alailefaleula (285) also placed first. Silver medalists were juniors Iman Kazan (145) and Brandon Wilson (195) and senior Bob Lopez (285), and sophomore Chad Hoyt (132) placed third.

Kimball at Atwater

The Jaguars collected four medals at the Atwater junior varsity tournament. Sophomore Nick Pearlman won in the 160-pound class, and freshman Joshua Grande (120) also won gold. Freshman Antonio Fowler (106) took second in his class, and sophomore Brittany Rose (160) won silver in her class in the girls tournament.
