Police Log: Elderly man hit crossing Grant Line Road

Police are investigating a crash involving an 87-year-old Tracy man and a Ford Mustang near the intersection of Parker Avenue and Grant Line Road around 4:52 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26.

The driver of the Mustang called police and said the man, who had been crossing the street, appeared to have a head injury.

Police blocked the eastbound and westbound lanes of Grant Line Road and the northbound lane of Parker Avenue to investigate the incident. The road was reopened at 8:13 a.m.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to San Joaquin General Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition Wednesday, Nov. 27. Police said that he was expected to survive.

Tuesday, Nov. 26

1:22 a.m.: Tracy police arrested a 21-year-old man for an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault on the 3200 block of Hammer Lane in Stockton. He was booked into San Joaquin County Jail.

6:14 a.m.: A 28-year-old man was arrested for unknown charges after a woman reported that a man had broken into her house on the 1100 block of Freedom Court. She said she awoke to see a man carrying something past her bedroom window and later found that her laptop was missing.

8:02 p.m.: A house was reportedly ransacked on the 100 block of South Third Street. The owner told police he returned home, heard a door slam and found items missing.

Monday, Nov. 25

4:08 a.m.: Police arrested a 27-year-old man for drug possession and public drunkenness on the 500 block of West Larch Road.

5:54 a.m.: A resident reported an attempted burglary on the 1000 block of Alden Glen Drive. He said he heard a noise and found screens removed, a window cracked and the back sliding door open.

10:17 p.m.: Police investigated a report of shots fired on the 200 block of Carlton Way. A caller told police he heard six gunshots and his mother smelled gunpowder outside. No other details were provided.

Sunday, Nov. 24

1:31 p.m.: Police are investigating a possible case of child abuse after a woman reported that her 8-year-old grandson, who was visiting her home in western Tracy, had significant bruises on his buttocks. She said the boy told her his father’s girlfriend hit him.

2:01 p.m.: A resident reported that someone broke his car window using a BB gun on the 300 block of Laguna Drive.

3:14 p.m.: Police arrested a 50-year-old man for drug possession and trespassing on the 700 block of Buckinghorse Drive.

8:42 p.m.: Police are investigating an alleged robbery of Big Lots, 2681 N. Tracy Blvd. A clerk reported that a man entered the store, handed her a note and then fled after she gave him some cash from the register. She said the note said he would kill her. The robber was described as a white man with a mustache and black hair, about 40 years old, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans. She said he left on foot going east. Police checked the area but were unable to find him.

Saturday, Nov. 23

8:29 a.m.: A clerk at Gail’s Beauty Salon, 1212 Holly Drive, found a window smashed.

Friday, Nov. 22

1:55 p.m.: A woman said a man wearing a tan vest with FedEx on the chest came to her door on the 100 block of Central Avenue and demanded her Pacific Gas and Electric Co. bill. He claimed that he would credit her account, because PG&E had been overcharging people. Police did not find him.

3:02 p.m.: A woman said that someone broke her back window with several rocks on the 200 block of Superior Court. She said she found a lot of rocks and wood in her backyard.

8:44 p.m.: A resident reported that someone broke into her house on the 100 block of Mount Diablo Avenue. She said the back door was open and a television was missing. Police are investigating.

Thursday, Nov. 21

10:21 a.m.: Someone at Tracy Dodge Chrysler, 3460 Naglee Road, reported that a customer used false information to buy a 2013 Dodge Avenger.

10:49 a.m.: A woman said someone keeps damaging her vehicles on the 200 block of West 20th Street. She said her windshield wipers had been stolen, and she requested extra patrols.

2:03 p.m.: Police arrested a 26-year-old man for outstanding warrants after a pedestrian stop near Countrywood Lane and Promenade Circle. The warrants included theft and driving under the influence.

3:40 p.m.: Police arrested a 24-year-old man after a traffic stop near the 2000 block of North Tracy Boulevard. He was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia and battery against a spouse.

5:14 p.m.: Police arrested a 38-year-old man for battery against a spouse on the 100 block of Hollywood Avenue.
