Nellie May "Dorothy” Hardin-Snider, 89, a longtime Tracy resident, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, at her home. No services are planned.

Mrs. Hardin-Snider was born Nov. 26, 1923, in Bakersfield and was a homemaker for 35 years. She had lived in Tracy the past 50 years and enjoyed visiting Lolly Hansen Senior Center.

Survivors include six children, Harold Hardin Jr., and his wife, Joanne, and William Hardin, all of Stockton, Susan Rustan of Tracy, Dorothy Myers of Oregon, John Hardin of Ione and Mary Hopper of Valley Springs; a brother, Frank Kavanaugh of Bakersfield; 19 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Clarence Earl Snider, who died in 1982; a son, Edward Hardin; and four siblings, Mary Reed, Margaret Pacheco, Howard Kavanaugh and Lelia Allen.

At Mrs. Hardin-Snider’s request, burial will be private. Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., is handling arrangements.
