Mrs. Martins, a native of Ribeirinha, Terceira, Azores, was born May 3, 1923. She was a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and a member of the IPFES and SPRSI Portuguese associations.
Widowed at age 45, she owned and operated a local farm for 33 years.
Survivors include three sons, Antonio Martin and Henry Martin, and his wife, Clo, all of Tracy, and Joseph Martin of Ceres; a daughter, Virginia B. Martins of Tracy; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 22 years, Antonio DaRocha Martins, who died in 1968; an infant son, Joseph B. Martins; and 11 siblings.
Wednesday’s Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave. Burial will follow in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Visitation will be observed from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., followed by a vigil at 7 p.m.
