Police Log: Boy asks police to arrest him

A boy called the police on Monday, Sept. 23, to tell them he wanted to be arrested, because he stole a million dollars from his parents on the 200 block of Cedar Mountain Drive and his classmates at Williams Middle School, 1600 Tennis Lane. He said he took items from his classmates’ backpacks when no one was around.

Police talked to the boy about filing a false police report.

Tracy police received 1227 calls for service from Thursday, Sept. 19, through Wednesday, Sept. 25. The following is a sampling of those calls.

Wednesday, Sept. 25

12:58 a.m.: Police arrested a 34-year-old man for an outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance and marijuana possession following a pedestrian stop on the 200 block of West Third Street.

1:31 p.m.: A resident said someone broke into his car and stole the GPS and stereo system on the 100 block of Foothills Vista Drive.

Tuesday, Sept. 24

7:32 a.m.: A resident said the owner of a chicken was trying to catch the animal after it escaped on the 200 block of Chester Drive. Police issued the chicken owner a warning.

10:51 a.m.: A woman said someone stole her jewelry out of her house on the 100 block of Alamo Drive. She told police she allowed two women into her house to look at furniture and after they left she discovered the theft.

3:55 p.m.: A woman said children walking by her house often throw lemons at her house door on the 900 block of East St.

4:46 p.m.: A business clerk told police he received a counterfeit $100 bill at the postal annex at 3089 N. Tracy Blvd.

7:01 p.m.: An employee of Mi Pueblo at 3225 N. Tracy Blvd. reported to police he found a letter with death threats to Mi Pueblo stores in the parking lot. He said the letter states there will be an attack at the Mi Pueblo stores on Oct. 30-31. Police are investigating.

Monday, Sept. 23

1:52 p.m.: A man told police a neighbor of his saw someone take a trimmer from his truck on the 200 block of Sunset Way.

4:04 p.m.: A store clerk told police two women stole four drawers of bras from Victoria’s Secret at 3200 Naglee Road. The total loss was estimated at $1,624.

5:07 p.m.: A caller said his 1994 Acura Integra was stolen from the Park & Ride at 2650 Naglee Road.

Sunday, Sept. 22

6:16 a.m.: Tracy Police went to a home in downtown Tracy after a woman told police that she just got a call from her mother, who wanted to get police and an ambulance to her house. Police arrived and told the ambulance crew to expedite after finding a person with a large laceration to the wrist and lots of blood. Police reported that a man and a woman had been cut, and officers arrested a 74-year-old man on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence and attempted murder. Police took him to San Joaquin County Jail where he held without bail pending a Tuesday afternoon court hearing in Manteca.

6:55 p.m.: A man on the 100 block of Ashland Drive told police that he had just seen a body in the irrigation canal behind his house.

Saturday, Sept. 21

8:16 a.m.: Police arrested a 31-year-old woman for an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop on the 3800 block of N. Tracy Boulevard. She was booked into county jail.

10:01 a.m.: Police arrested a 31-year-old man for brandishing a weapon on the 700 block of Williams Street.

10:29 a.m.: A restaurant clerk at Mongolian BBQ reported a burglary at the restaurant at 3296 W. Grant Line Road. Burglaries were also reported at Bambi’s at 3292 W. Grant Line Road and Little Caesars at 245 E. 11th St.

2:56 p.m.: A resident said someone broke into a community mailbox near Crater Place and Tulare Drive.

7:53 p.m.: A resident told police he found a man inside his house and hit him with a stick on the 1100 block of Johnson Court. He said after he hit him, the man took off running. He said it didn’t appear anything was missing, but the man may have gotten into the house through a back window.

Friday, Sept. 20

12:25 a.m.: A store clerk told police three teens stole four cases of beer and ran out of the Walmart store at 3010 Grant Line Road. He said they didn’t want to take a police report, but requested extra patrols.

Thursday, Sept. 19

8:20 a.m.: A man told police someone stole his vehicle tires on the 1700 block of Thicket Court. The valued the tires at $3,000.

11:57 a.m.: Police arrested a 48-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man for outstanding warrants on the 1500 block of Spring Court. The woman’s warrant was for possession of stolen property, and the man had a warrant for burglary.

4:31 p.m.: Police arrested a 33-year-old man following a traffic stop near Highland and Parker avenues. He was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

4:55 p.m.: A store clerk told police an employee quit their job and took $6,000 worth of cell phones from Radio Shack at 2217 N. Tracy Blvd.

8:16 p.m.: A resident said two bicycles were taken from a garage on the 300 block of Baldwin Lane.
