Jeremy “Elvis” Pearce brings his salute to Elvis Presley back to the Tracy Elks Lodge on Saturday, Aug. 10.

The performance by Pearce, a Fresno resident, will cap off the Elks’ 10th annual Car Show, which begins at 1 p.m. on the grounds of the Tracy Elks Lodge, 6400 W. 11th St. A tri-tip steak dinner and “Tribute to the King” show will follow at 5:30 p.m.

It will be a return engagement for Pearce, who performed at the Elks Car Show last year. He is considered the outstanding Elvis tribute artist in the western U.S., said Mike Conners, program chairman.

Reservations, $20 per person, for the dinner and show can be made by calling the Elks Lodge at 835-4413. Proceeds go to Elks charity programs.

YLI plans ice cream social

The Aug. 14 meeting of the Young Ladies Institute No. 150 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church will be followed by an ice cream social.

The group will gather at 5:30 p.m. in the small hall at the church, 163 W. Eaton Ave.

Members are asked to take a small gift to fill an Autumn Basket that will be raffled as a fundraiser Oct. 8, when the YLI grand president makes her annual official visit.

During the July 10 meeting, two new members, Vasa Spilmon and Bridget Madruga, joined YLI No. 150. The group shared dessert and played card bingo. Darlene Castro, the institute deputy for two years, said her farewells to the group.
