Police Log: Alleged fight, shooting outside McDonald's

Tracy police responded to an alleged fight and shooting in a McDonald's parking lot on Friday, July 19.

Officers located a 9mm shell casing outside McDonald’s, 1820 W. 11th St., just after 10:05 p.m.

About five people were allegedly fighting when the shooting happened. An off-duty police officer followed a vehicle from the scene to Toni Stuitt Drive, and officers searched yards on the street.

The log indicates that officers detained several men and that a 21-year-old man was arrested. He was charged with residential robbery, terrorist threats, residential burglary and vandalism, according to the San Joaquin County Jail website. It’s unclear if those charges are related to the alleged shooting.

No Injuries were reported. 


 

Tracy police received 1,123 calls for service from Thursday, July 18, to Wednesday, July 24. The following is a sampling of those calls.

Wednesday

8:20 a.m.: Police arrested a 45-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman for outstanding warrants. The warrants were for burglary, conspiracy and defraud.

9:55 p.m.: A woman told police her husband had a gun and was shooting it inside their house on the 100 block of West Beverly Place. She said the couple had four children age 4 and younger. Police found that no guns were registered in the man’s name, and when they confronted him, they discovered that the bang the woman heard was a kitchen cupboard slamming shut. The man agreed to leave for the night.

11:20 p.m.: Police arrested a 30-year-old man for an outstanding warrant for entering a residence without permission following a pedestrian stop near Beverly Place and Tracy Boulevard. The man was taken to San Joaquin County Jail.  

Tuesday

12:23 a.m.: Police arrested a 53-year-old man for outstanding warrants for driving with a suspended license, driving under the influence and theft following a pedestrian stop near the intersection of Tracy Boulevard and Clover Road.

12:51 a.m.: Police arrested a 39-year-old man for an outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended license and a new charge for drug possession following a traffic stop near Larch Road and Tracy Boulevard. He was booked into county jail.

5 p.m.: A woman told police her boyfriend put her rental car from Oakland on Craigslist and sold it to a man on the 2100 block of Tennis Lane. She said the man refused to give the car back. Police checked and could not find the car.

6:45 p.m.: Police arrested a 47-year-old woman for battery on a spouse on the 2800 block of Hidden Valley Court.

Monday

12:04 a.m.: Police arrested a 21-year-old woman for battery of a police officer and obstructing a police officer on the 400 block of East Sixth Street.

8:52 a.m.: A man called to report that a car he purchased from Berkeley listed on Craigslist came with a fake title. He said he would follow up with the Berkeley Police Department.

12:49 p.m.: Police arrested a 22-year-old man for an outstanding theft warrant and a drug possession charge at Chase, 691 W. 11th St.

5:15 p.m.: A woman told police her neighbor’s children chased her 5-year-old with a kitchen knife on the 100 block of East Seventh Street. Police are investigating.

11:31 p.m.: Police arrested a 20-year-old woman for an outstanding warrant for battery following a traffic stop near Interstate 205 and Mountain House Parkway.

Sunday

1:32 a.m.: A 30-year-old man was arrested during a pedestrian stop on the 600 block of West 11th Street on an unknown warrant.

1:37 a.m.: A 20-year-old man wanted on a malicious mischief warrant was arrested during a pedestrian stop on the 600 block of West 12th Street.

3:02 a.m.: Police arrested a 24-year-old woman in the area of Tennis Lane and Firefly Way for allegedly driving under the influence. The woman allegedly struck another vehicle and was unable to provide information to the other driver.

9:19 a.m.: Officers arrested a 32-year-old woman on drug-related charges during a traffic stop on the 1700 block of West 11th Street. Her vehicle was towed form the scene.

8:57 p.m.: A man was found bleeding on the ground in front of Mi Ranchito Market, 215 N. Central Ave. It was unclear if the man was assaulted or hit by a vehicle.

Saturday

12:21 a.m.: Police arrested a 33-year-old man during a traffic stop in the area of South Street and Central Avenue.

12:50 a.m.: Officers arrested a 24-year-old man outside am/pm, 550 W. Valpico Road, for a drunken driving warrant. The man was allegedly asking customers to give him 25 cents or buy him a beer.

12:09 p.m.: A 20-year-old man was arrested on a burglary warrant during a traffic stop in the area of Lincoln Boulevard and Michelle Avenue.

Friday

12:34 a.m.: A 28-year-old was arrested on an outstanding warrant at a home on the 1700 block of Bessie Avenue. He was wanted for possessing a gun and drug-related charges.

1:07 a.m.: Police arrested a 23-year-old man who was allegedly banging on a door on the 900 block of Taft Avenue. He was arrested when it was discovered he was wanted in Sacramento County for domestic abuse-related charges and in Solano County for failing to appear in traffic court.

1:59 a.m.: Officers arrested a 32-year-old man on charges of battery. He was allegedly pacing in front of a neighbor’s house on the 1100 block of Riverview Avenue trying to start a fight.

11:21 a.m.: A 33-year-old woman and a 33-year-old woman were arrested for their alleged involvement in an auto theft. The pair were driving a BMW X5 when they were stopped outside the West Valley Mall, 3400 Naglee Road, by California Highway Patrol officers. CHP officers tracked the vehicle to the mall using a LoJack locator. The vehicle was allegedly stolen from Modesto. The pair were also allegedly using a stolen credit card.

Thursday

12:26 a.m.: Tracy police went to Grant Line Road at Summer Gate Drive after someone reported that a white Mercedes had flipped over in the roadway. Two people got out of the car before police arrived, and at least one of them needed a ride to a hospital. The car had to be towed.

1:26 p.m.: A man was arrested on the 1500 block of Gentry Lane after officers staked out and then searched a house. Police took the 36-year-old man to San Joaquin County Jail, where he was booked for marijuana cultivation and theft of utility services and then released.
