Services will be Monday, July 29, for lifelong Tracy resident Julia De Mello, 90, a homemaker, who died July 20 at Dameron Hospital in Stockton.

Mrs. Mello, born in Tracy on Dec. 14, 1922, was a homemaker for 68 years and a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.

She was a member of the local St. Anthony’s Society and IPFES Portuguese fraternal organization.

Survivors include four children, Diana Jordan of Stockton, Lucille Berry, and her husband, Ron, of Sparks, Nev., Teresa Ramirez of San Jose and Richard Luiz Mello Jr. of Tracy; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are a brother-in-law, Tony Mello, and his wife, Betty, of Modesto; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 33 years, Richard L. Mello Sr., who died in 1977; and a sister, Mary Arson.

A funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the chapel at Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave. Burial will follow in Tracy Cemetery, 501 W. Schulte Road. Visitation will be observed from 9 a.m. until the service time at the mortuary.

Contributions in Mrs. Mello’s name may be sent to St. Bernard’s Building Fund, 163 W. Eaton Ave., Tracy, CA 95376.
