Tracy Unified School District announced on Tuesday, July 23, that Charles Spikes is the new head football coach at Kimball High.

Spikes is a 1991 graduate of Tracy High and a seventh-grade core teacher at Jefferson School.

He was an assistant football coach at West High from 2000 to 2012, and made the move to Kimball High in March as an assistant coach for Matt Loggins.

Loggins was previously the head coach at West High.

Spikes has continued to work with the Kimball team during the summer after Loggins accepted a job as the athletic director at Clovis West High School in June.

Jessica Cardoza, spokeswoman for TUSD, noted on Tuesday that Spikes accepted the job on Monday.

The TUSD Board of Trustees votes to make Spikes' hire official during its Aug. 13 meeting.
