The Tracy Babe Ruth 11-and-under All-Stars are heading into state championship play this weekend after they won their district qualifying tournament on June 22 and 23 in Lodi.

Tracy beat the Lodi All-Stars in two consecutive games during the Central California Cal Ripken District 1 Tournament.

Tracy won the first game 7-3. The Tracy team was behind 3-2 with the bases loaded when Josh Marlin bunted in the tying run and Andres Deleon followed with a grand slam over the fence.

Tracy beat Lodi 8-2 in the second game, with Marlin, Amari Henderson and Spencer Norvell making plays from the outfield to keep Lodi’s base runners from scoring.

Also leading the Tracy team on offense was Dylan Maune, who went 5-for-7 for both games.

Maune, Jacob Creasman and Kundhan Dasari pitched for the Tracy team.

The team’s next stop is the Central California Cal Ripken State Tournament from Friday, July 5, to Tuesday, July 9, in Bakersfield.
