In two games since he joined the Minor League Baseball AAA New Orleans Zephyrs, Kyle Jensen of Tracy has wasted no time putting his slugging ability to work at the next level.

Jensen, 25, moved up from the AA Jacksonville Suns after he established himself as the Southern League home run leader, knocking 16 balls out of the park in 70 games with the Suns.

In his first plate appearance as a AAA player, Jensen doubled in the second inning of the Zephyrs’ 7-2 victory at home over the Nashville Sounds on Monday, June 24.

Jensen followed it up with a solo home run in the sixth inning against Nashville on Tuesday, June 25, putting his team up 3-2.

It was one of five solo homers hit by the New Orleans team, but Nashville launched a five-run rally in the eighth inning for a 7-5 win.
