Nettie (Hergert) and David Foos, longtime Tracy residents, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary during a small family party Saturday, June 22, at Scoma’s in San Francisco.

Married June 20, 1948, in Otis, Kansas, the couple raised four children: Corrie and Leslie Foos of Mountain View, Barry Foos of Tracy, Davida and Mark Bellomo of Tracy and Lauren and Kelly Foos of Aptos.

They have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and are expecting a third.

David Foos, a teacher and principal for 47 years, ended his career at McKinley Elementary School, where he taught from 1969 to 1989.

He previously worked at Bazine Grade School in Kansas from 1952 to 1958 and at Tracy’s Senior Elementary School from 1958 to 1964. He served as junior high principal at Johnson Air Force Base in Japan from 1964 to 1966 and at Hanau American School in Germany from 1966 to 1969.

He has been a member of the Tracy Breakfast Lions and Tracy Elementary Educators Association.

Nettie Foos, a piano teacher, instructed hundreds of students between 1948 and 2012. She has been involved with the California State Teachers of Music Association.

Both are longtime members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where David is an elder and Nettie is a Sunday school teacher and organist.
