A celebration of life will be Tuesday, May 28, for Ramon Mateo, 67, a Vietnam War veteran, who died Sunday, May 19, at a Fremont hospital.

Mr. Mateo was born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, and lived in Oakland most of his life. He served in Vietnam from 1965 to 1967 and retired from Northern California Millwrights Local Union 102. He had lived in Tracy the past five years.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Gladys Mateo of Tracy; two children, Ramon Mateo and Yvette Lozano, and her husband, Carlos, all of Tracy; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

The celebration of Mr. Mateo’s life will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at True Vine Fellowship, 711 Carlton Way. Visitation will be observed from noon to 7 p.m. Monday, May 27, at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave. An online guest book can be viewed at www.frymemorialchapel.com.
