Tracy High senior Robert Erler was the only local golfer to advance to the next round of the playoffs from the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I South tournament.

Erler shot 76 on the par-72 Creekside Golf Course in Modesto on Monday, May 6, to earn a three-way tie for fifth place and qualify for an at-large entry at the SJS Masters tournament Monday, May 13, at The Reserve in Stockton.

Tracy sent its entire team to the division tournament and placed sixth among nine teams with a score of 432. Teams going to the Masters tournament are St. Mary’s (395), Johansen (395), Lodi (414) and Enochs (417).

Tracy junior Shivam Swamy (80), sophomores Jared Finney (88), Talon Simmons (90), and Amit Grewal (98), and freshman Gavin Bean (105) finished their season at the division tournament. It was also the last event of 2013 for West senior Mark Olson (93) and junior Garrett Morris (105).

Kimball High sophomore Reese Maxfield finished his season at the SJS Division IV tournament at Castle Oaks Golf Course in Ione, shooting a 79 on the par-72 course, seven strokes shy of qualifying to move on Masters.
