As South Tracy’s Junior Miss of 2006, I’m a strong supporter of the renamed Tracy’s Distinguished Young Women program. Sadly, the program is suffering a lack of community support and funding.
The DYW scholarship program is a fantastic organization that rewards young women for excellence in academics, physical fitness, presentation and talent. In addition, most of these women will experience their first interview process, as well as create valuable networking opportunities.
This year’s program will be Saturday, March 30, at Kimball High. The show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are available. Tracy’s Distinguished Young Women is also in need of sponsors.
DYW is one of Tracy’s most unique and positive organizations geared toward the high school generation. As a community, we need to encourage our youth by supporting programs like DYW. For more information about the program and how you can get involved, contact me at tori.gottberg@gmail.com.
