West High senior Amrit Singh finished two matches short of the medaling — the furthest out of six local wrestlers — at the California Interscholastic Federation state wrestling championships on Friday, March 1, in Bakersfield.

Singh, wrestling in the 195-pound weight class went 2-2 on Friday with a win by an 8-2 decision, a loss by an 11-2 major decision, a win by 10-1 major decision, and was eliminated on a 1-0 decision.

None of the six Tracy wrestlers advanced to Saturday’s medal rounds. West senior Roy Bravo (152) went 2-2, Tracy High senior Albert Landeros (120), Kimball High junior Trent Nicholson (132) and Central Catholic senior Joey Abbate (138) all went 1-2 and Kimball senior Logan Finley (220) finished 0-2.
