MOUNTAIN HOUSE – Two men allegedly robbed Wicklund’s Market at gunpoint on Feb. 27, escaping with the business cash register, according to a police report from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department.

The store clerk told deputies that he was restocking merchandise around 8:54 p.m. at the store, 557 Wicklund Way Crossing, when he heard someone enter the store.

The clerk told police that a black man, described as tall, skinny and wearing black sweatpants, was carrying a handgun. He said the man pointed the gun at him and demanded all of the money in the cash register.

As the clerk walked toward the front counter, he said the second man told him to hurry and get the cash out of the register, before both men grabbed the register and ran out of the store.

The alleged robbers were last seen running west towards Wicklund Park.

Anyone with information call the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s office at 468-4400.

It was just a matter of time before this was going to happen. I wonder how long it took for the Sheriff to respond? Maybe the store owner was lucky and the unit wasn't in the county areas of Manteca, Lathrop, Stockton or Tracy.
