Football fans can avoid long lines for this year’s crosstown football match if they buy tickets early.

West High athletic director Steve Thornton said he expects a big crowd at Steve Lopez Stadium on Friday when the West and Tracy football teams face off in a pre-league game. The stadium drew about 3,800 fans at West’s first home game last week, and has a capacity of about 4,200.

Tickets are $6 general admission, $4 for students with student body cards, and are available at the bookkeepers’ offices at both West and Tracy high schools.
