MH Flag Football and Cheer

DETAILS: Mountain House Youth Flag Football is starting its fifth season and Mountain House Youth Cheer is starting its second season. The season runs from July 20 to Nov. 2.

MH Hurricanes Football and Cheer

WHEN: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2

WHERE: Questa School gymnasium, 685 N. Montebello St., in Mountain House

DETAILS: Mountain House Hurricanes Football and Cheer is accepting registration for players and cheerleaders for the 2013 Trans Valley Youth Football League season. Children ages 6 to 14 are eligible to participate. Parents must take a birth certificate, a report card, and the required registration fee to the sign-up event. Registration is also accepted online at www.mh-sports.org.

COST: $325 for football players, $375 for cheerleaders

Tracy Cougars football and cheer

DETAILS: Tracy High cheer coaches will host an informational meeting for all potential cheerleaders for the 2013-14 school year. The meeting will be a chance to go over forms and paperwork before tryouts, which will be March 18 to 22.

DETAILS: The Tracy Sparks/Spurs AAU basketball club will have tryouts for the upcoming tournament season. Boys in ninth, 10th and 11th grades try out on Monday, March 4. Boys in third, fourth and fifth grades and girls in seventh and eighth grades try out Tuesday, March 5.

Youth soccer referee clinic

WHEN: Friday, March 8, to Sunday, March 10

WHERE: Tracy Transit Station, 50 E. Sixth St., Ste. 104

DETAILS: Tracy Youth Soccer League is hosting a United States Soccer Federation referee licensing clinic for new referees and those who need to renew their licenses. The three-day session runs from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The clinic concludes with the California North Referee Administration exam.

COST: $20 to TYSL for the clinic and $40 to CNRA for the exam.
