Mrs. Wagner was born Oct. 28, 1920, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, and attended convent school and university in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She later worked in business administration for the U.S. government.
In the late 1950s, she settled in Tracy, where she worked as a bookkeeper for many years.
She was a founding member of the Tracy Hospital Auxiliary, volunteering more than 5,000 hours at the hospital.
Mrs. Wagner, nicknamed “Whammo” in her final years, was also involved with the GFWC Tracy Woman’s Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Women of the Elks, Brighter Christmas and Tracy Republican Women Federated.
She was a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, Daniel Edward Wagner of Tracy; a daughter, Gloria Jean Wagner, and her domestic partner, Suzanne Hennacy, of Tracy; and three grandchildren.
Her husband, Harold C. Wagner, preceded her in death in 1993.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave., followed immediately by a reception at 1353 Parker Ave.
