EDITOR,
On Golden Leaf Lane, where I live, people are continuing to race up and down the street at high speeds without stopping at stop signs. There is a lot of traffic in the area as there is only one way for traffic to get to Kelly School. All the cars have to come up Golden Leaf Lane to get back to the school. As a result, in the morning and afternoons, it is hard to get out of the neighborhood for those who live in the Madison Park area.
The city of Tracy recently put in a new stop sign, but it does not seem to be slowing down the traffic. Instead of running one stop sign, drivers run two. Police patrols at the intersection just pull over car after car. When they are gone, the drivers just go back to the way they always drive.
Neighbors have requested speed bumps, but they are told it is too expensive to have the speed bumps in the street.
When Golden Leaf Lane opens up, giving a more direct route to the school, the traffic is just going to get worse. People need to be considerate of the families in the neighborhood by slowing down and following the traffic laws.
