St. Bernard singers

St. Bernard’s Catholic Church will host Bay Area choral singers to raise money for its new church.

The Saringhimig Singers will perform at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the church, 163 W. Eaton Ave.

Cost is $20.

Gambling bus

Bea Hemmingsen will sponsor an Aug. 24 trip to the Black Oak Casino in the foothill town of Tuolumne.

Cost is $16 with a return of $10 cash (or $15 for those with coupons), and a discount on food.

The bus leaves at 8 a.m. from the parking lot next to the gun shop at 22 E. 11th St.
