According to the resident, the man inside the vehicle was wearing a badge and allegedly told him to get away because he was an undercover officer.
A Tracy police dispatcher confirmed that the man had previously notified police that he would be in the area.
Tracy police received 172 calls Wednesday, Feb. 13. The following is a sample of those reports.
12:45 a.m.: Police arrested a person during a traffic stop on the 3400 block of North MacArthur Drive when it was discovered they were wanted by the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department on an outstanding traffic warrant. The name was redacted, which typically indicates the person is a minor.
10:47 a.m.: A man was arrested for allegedly slapping his wife in the face during an argument at their home in southeastern Tracy. The victim was reportedly hiding in the bushes of the front yard to avoid being seen by her husband. He was allegedly mad because she had just returned home. The husband left the house, but officers were able to locate him a short distance away and make an arrest. He was taken to San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.
11:56 a.m.: An employee of the Tracy Police Department reportedly witnessed a student at Tracy High School park in the police department lot and walk across 11th Street to the school. An officer wrote a citation for the vehicle 34 minutes later.
