Police Log: Man allegedly asleep at the wheel

A 40-year-old man who was allegedly passed out in vehicle that was parked in the entrance to a Tracy motel was arrested Tuesday, Feb. 12.

Officers reportedly found the man in the driver’s seat with the door open just before 1 p.m.

He was arrested for being intoxicated in public.

According to the San Joaquin County Jail website, the man was released from the French Camp jail later in the day.

Tracy police received 186 calls Tuesday, Feb. 12. The following is a sample of those reports.

12:19 a.m.: Officers arrested two men during a traffic stop in the area of Holly Drive and Larch Road. A 47-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant, while a 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with two drug-related offenses.

11:19 a.m.: A 48-year-old man was arrested for allegedly being intoxicated at the Green Oaks Mobile Home Park, 2929 N. MacArthur Drive. The man was reportedly involved in an argument with his stepfather when officers were called.

1:54 p.m.: Parents of a student at Tracy High, 315 E. 11th St., reported their child’s iPod was stolen during lunch time at the school. The student was reportedly told by a security guard to leave her backpack next to him while she got her lunch. When the girl returned, her iPod was allegedly missing. The parents wanted to speak with an officer about the incident.

4:37 p.m.: Police arrested a 64-year-old who was allegedly intoxicated in the parking lot of McDonald’s, 1820 W. 11th St. He was reportedly mumbling at customers.

10:01 p.m.: Several people were reportedly involved in a fight in the area of Clover Road and Buthmann Avenue. One woman was allegedly seen carrying a large stick or baseball bat while two women were alleged to have thrown a bottle at another woman who was on the ground. Officers were unable to locate anyone involved in the alleged incident.

Thanks TPD for getting one of these dangerous mumblers off our streets. Seems like incidents of mumbling are on the rise all over town. Glad to see TPD is on top of it.

he wasn't arrested for mumbling, he was arrested for (at least it seems from what is published here) public drunkedness
