Deputies search 11th Street

San Joaquin County sheriff deputies are searching for a mentally disabled man who walked away from the Star Motel with a handgun following an argument with a family member.

A California Highway Patrol helicopter from the CHP Sacramento office is being used to help search for the man, who was last seen running away from the motel, 4881 W. 11th St., on 11th street toward Tracy.

Deputies were searching for the man in the fields on the north side of 11th Street.

Sheriff patrol cars were at Banta and Chrisman roads as search teams made their way west along 11th Street toward Tracy.

Anyone with information about the man should call the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department at 468-4400.
