Thomas Cunningham won the Apple tablet for spending $30,641 in Tracy from Nov. 23 to Dec. 31, winning the “iShop Tracy: Shop Local, Spend Local, Enjoy Local” contest.
Cunningham’s purchases included a car from the Tracy Auto Mall, according to Sofia Valenzuela, president of the chamber.
Resident Jane Xyphaladt, meanwhile, won an iPad Mini for turning in 146 holiday shopping receipts from Tracy-area stores, the most of anyone who took part in the contest.
According to Valenzuela, receipts turned in by local shoppers totaled about $45,000.
She said the hope is that the chamber and its partners can establish a publicity effort that extends beyond the holiday shopping season.
“The chamber is working on developing an ongoing campaign to continue spreading the message of shopping locally,” she said.
