Max (left) and Peanut Butter are both waiting for homes at East of Eden, a nonprofit animal rescue organization. Max, a papillon-terrier mix, is playful and adventurous. He is nearly housetrained and learns quickly. Peanut Butter, a Chihuahua-corgi mix, is submissive and sweet-natured. He weighs about 10 pounds. Both dogs are neutered and good with children, other dogs and cats. East of Eden pets and volunteers are at Petco, 2888 Grant Line Road, from noon to 3 p.m. Saturdays. For information: 815-5186 or www.eoerescue.org.
