Got no real beef against pit bulls but had ta comment on "smart" countries? Really? Smart? Incidentally, Puerto Rico is a territory of th United States, not a commonwealth. Thairs a difference. An no, thair not "inbred" any more than other breeds of dogs. Like any dog, they tend ta behave th way they are raised by thair human owners. Granted thair jaw muscles are stronger than many other breeds, meanin thair bites tend ta be more serious, but thair not really any more aggressive than any other breed of dog. They get a bad rap primarily because of th way thair owners raise them.

Use ta raise Chihuahuas an unfortunately had ta put one of th males down because he was a biter. Wasn't really all his fault because of th people who raised him before they gave him ta me.

Leo, with you comment about the postman it's obvious you know nothing about dogs in general. They are all territorial. Their reaction to the postman is a warning to "stay out of my territory". My old springer spaniel barks at anyone that come to my door but the minute I show up he stops as well as the rest of my dogs. That's what dogs do.

This is a lie. If it were the owners and how they were raised, all dogs would maul, maime and kill equally as all dogs get equal chances of being chosen by abusive or neglectful owners. Beagles penned up in back yard cages and routinely forgotten are not in even in the charts for bite statistics. If it was all in how they were raised, beagles would be one of the top maulers. Put a pitbull in a backyard pen and forget about it and you will get a very different outcome. Using the word vicious is not helpful, either. A vicious chihuahua isn't going to take off your leg. A pitbull is very hard for any adult to fight off if it gets vicious. Your friend is needlessly putting her kids and family in dangers as pitbulls that are given all the love and care of other dogs suddenly go beserk. Its as if the devil throws a dart and watches the carnage. The owners of pitbulls are always shocked and say the dog never mauled before. It would seem they wouldn't want to learn their lessons the hard way with their own families. Pitbulls are very sweet until they are just the opposite. They are the Jeckly and Hydes of the dog world. You can't see constantly changing DNA inside an animal but when their latent fighting genes are suddenly triggered children are disfigured for life, owners are killed, innocent people endure life changing attacks far more severe than anything other dogs are responsible for. It doesn't matter if the owners of pitbulls are good people. Pitbulls are not pet worthy. You don't see other dogs talked about this way because other dogs do not attack people or pets in such a severe matter. You have bought the Koolaid and it is tainted with lies. Look at this. Hundreds and hundreds of victims of pitbulls that had to air lifted to hospitals as their injuries were too deemed to severe for mere ambulances. Th dog should be impounded regardless of what breed it is, that's just common sense.
