Someone called police at 3:24 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, to report that a fight was brewing among six or eight teenage boys at Clyde Bland Park, 1753 Blandford Lane. The caller reported hearing the sound of someone bashing on a car, possibly a shirtless, tattooed young man the caller saw holding a baseball bat. Police didn’t find him, but did find a dented car in the park.

12:44 a.m.: Tracy police arrested a 50-year-old man who reportedly trespassed at the Best Western motel, 811 W. Clover Road, and took him to San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp. He was booked on suspicion of having a counterfeit $100 bill and having a small amount of marijuana, and then released.

6:30 a.m.: Someone crashed into a tree near the intersection of Corral Hollow and Schulte roads, knocking the 15-foot tree into the roadway. The car was gone before police arrived, but officers found the car’s front license plate. Police took a report.

10:47 a.m.: Police arrested a 52-year old man after someone reported a suspicious-looking person on a bicycle at 10th Street and Central Avenue. Police found the man at Ninth and East streets and arrested him for violating parole, and tacked on a charge of resisting arrest. He went to San Joaquin County Jail, where he awaits a Friday, Jan. 25, court hearing at the Manteca courthouse.
