At least one man was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 22, following a search for man who was believed to be carrying a gun.

Several men were outside of a residence on the 100 block of West Fourth Street around 4 p.m. when one man was reportedly seen with a gun in the waistband of his pants. The man was also seen allegedly holding the gun before the group walked away from the home.

Officers found the group outside of Mi Ranchito Market and Deli on the corner of C and Third streets.

Five people were detained while officers checked the store for a gun. The log doesn’t indicate a gun was found.

A 24-year-old man was arrested for three outstanding warrants — one from Manteca and two from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.

Tracy police received 146 calls for service Tuesday, Jan. 22. The following is a sample of those calls.

12:58 p.m.: Police arrested a 46-year-old man who allegedly displayed a gun during an argument on the 400 block of Glenbriar Circle. The two men were verbally fighting when one man went to his vehicle to retrieve a black handgun, the second man told police. He reportedly put the gun in the waistband of his pants and went inside a house without pointing it at anyone. When officers arrived, they arrested the man and searched the house for the gun. The log doesn’t indicate the officer found a gun.

1:20 p.m.: Two students were reportedly involved in a fight at West High School, 1775 W. Lowell Ave. One student had swelling to the side of his head, and both students said the fight was mutual. The injured student was reportedly taken by his mother to get medical attention. No charges were filed, and the incident was handled by school administration.

4:15 p.m.: A woman had her purse stolen by a man in the parking lot of the Ninety-Nine Cent Store, 1320 W. 11th St. The man, described as white and wearing a black sweater and grey jeans, allegedly took the purse from the victim’s hands before riding a BMX-style bike east on 11th Street. Officers were unable to locate the man. The victim was not injured.
